Global WiLAT launched the Sustainability Leadership Strategy Program

WiLAT is happy to announce that the 1st session of the Sustainability Leadership Strategy Program was virtually launched on 12th May with 26 participants from Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Fiji, Hong Kong, Turkey and Indonesia attending and few invited observers.

The program consists of 11 virtual sessions conducted weekly. Today’s inaugural session was conducted by Morten Bo Christiansen, Head of Decarbonisation of AP Moller Maersk on the topic “Motivations & strategy of sustainability in logistics & transport“. Great to hear AP Moller Maersk's plan of achieving net zero carbon for vessels by 2030 and for operations by 2050.

It is interesting to note that they are ahead of time and planning to get the first net zero vessel by 2023! Virtual WiLAT Capacity Building Centre (WCBC) have planned to organize a series of value adding CPD offerings to the industry during the year.
