WiLAT Sri Lanka Celebrates IGNITE 10 and Launches IGNITE 11

WiLAT Sri Lanka marked a major milestone with the successful completion of the IGNITE 10 Mentoring Program and the official launch of IGNITE 11.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Rumal Fernando, Chairperson of WiLAT Sri Lanka, who reflected on a decade of empowering professionals through mentorship. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Rayhan Wanniappa, Acting Director General and CEO of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, who highlighted the transformative role of mentorship in nurturing leadership and innovation.
IGNITE 10 celebrated the achievements of 70 mentees guided by 14 mentors during 2024/2025. The Top 5 mentees were recognized following a rigorous evaluation process, including the first-ever viva to select the overall winner.
Looking ahead, IGNITE 11 was officially launched with the pinning of badges for a new cohort of 20 mentors and 40 mentees. Indeewari Chandrasekara, Project Chair for IGNITE 11, outlined the program’s vision and upcoming initiatives, spotlighting new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
Through the IGNITE program, WiLAT Sri Lanka continues to champion mentorship, gender diversity, and leadership development, reaffirming its dedication to empowering the next generation of logistics and transport professionals.
