In response to the devastating impact of Cyclone Ditwah and the subsequent floods, WiLAT Sri Lanka took meaningful action to support affected schoolchildren whose education was disrupted during this challenging period.
On 19 December 2026, WiLAT Sri Lanka handed over a collection of essential school books and stationery through Visakha Vidyalaya, extending the donation to benefit students of Helambawatowana Maha Vidyalaya, Chilaw. These students were among those significantly impacted by the recent floods that followed Cyclone Ditwah. This initiative reflects WiLAT Sri Lanka’s continued commitment to empowering young learners and standing beside communities in times of adversity. By facilitating access to vital educational resources, the organization reaffirmed its dedication to resilience, opportunity, and collective responsibility.
Natural disasters often leave lasting disruptions in children’s academic journeys. Through this contribution, WiLAT Sri Lanka sought to help restore continuity in learning, rebuild confidence, and provide students with the tools needed to resume their education with renewed hope. WiLAT Sri Lanka extends its sincere appreciation to all contributors and partners who supported this effort. Their generosity and shared commitment highlight the strength of collaboration in creating meaningful and sustainable impact. Together, through purposeful action and community engagement, WiLAT Sri Lanka continues to take confident steps toward building a brighter tomorrow.
