WiLAT organized a field visit to Regency Teas (PVT) Ltd, on Nov 01, 2019 for a study and experience tour on the supply chain value in the tea sector. This tour covered a brief history to Regency Teas, the factory visit and supply chain process. Same was explained by the General Manager Mrs. Amali Mudunkotuwa who is also an Executive Member of the WiLAT Exco 2019/20. Over 35 students’ took part in this tour.
The International Convention of the Charted Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) for the year 2019 was held at The Midland Hotel, Manchester in the United Kingdom under the theme “Global solutions to Global challenges” from June 16-18. This year was significant as CILT UK celebrated its centenary year.
WiLAT Sri Lanka Founding Chairperson/ Advisor Gayani De Alwis met with Prof Ryoo of University Maritime and Ocean Studies of South Korea on 8th July to discuss the plans of setting up WiLAT in South Korea in September.

WiLAT Founding Chairperson/ Advisor Gayani De Alwis was appointed to the Women Directors Forum (WDF) Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors on June 03, 2019 held at the BMICH. Gayani De Alwis was the only female from the Logistics, Transport and Supply Chain Industry representing this diverse group of directors.
