Inauguration of Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) Mauritius

WiLAT Mauritius was inaugurated by Her Excellency Mrs. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, President of the Republic of Mauritius on 10 March 2016 in the margins of the Africa Forum 2016.

The objective of WiLAT Mauritius is to empower and promote women working in the field of logistics and transport industry while encouraging and supporting their career development. On that day, the President was designated as the Matron of the Association.

The first Management Committee of WiLAT Mauritius was held on 6 May 2016 where the Action Plan of WiLAT Mauritius for the period 2016-2018 was discussed and approved. It was also decided that the meeting of the Management Committee of WiLAT Mauritius will be held on a monthly basis.

Our long-term objective is to join with our sister organizations worldwide and accelerate the alleviation of poverty, promote gender equality and participation of women in the global mainstream.
